Adolphe Blanc

Jean-Baptiste Adolphe Blanc (1828–1885), a French musician and composer of the Second Empire who was endowed with a fertile pen, contributed to the general musical mirth of his time without having taken that high road to fame: opera. Instead, he proved himself rather foolhardy by taking the side road of chamber music. History had almost forgotten poor Adolphe; but, as it is occasionally wont to happen, a few enthusiasts revive the artist a little by reviving his art.
